Our Approach
The Children’s Gallery and Arts Center, Inc. offers a unique approach in accordance with our philosophy and standards that allow students to explore a different array of media. With us, students use their intuition, their imagination and their innovative ideas to create, in addition to receiving suitable individual attention.
We encourage our students to understand that self-development is a "lifetime program". Our main interest is the process of "a working artist" that responds to the needs and curiosity of the learner. Our programs are based on the principles of communication, responsibility, respect and teamwork. Through exploration and discovery, in a cooperative and enriching environment, students create unique projects with the artist providing the workshop.
Our workshops include the following core components:
Creating & Performing: The creation of art that ranges from wire sculpture to oil painting. The production of art involves Analysis, Imaginative and Critical Thinking processes.
Cultural History: The examination of the contribution artists and art have made to society and culture.
Aesthetics: Emotional reaction to visual artworks. Development of critical thinking.
Communication & Art Criticism: Response, interpretation and critical judgment of specific works of art.
We combine the creative engagement of any art activity with content from other subject areas, such as math, science, language arts, social studies, and general business principles. Our center contributes to strengthen the positive reputation of our community by enriching the lives of residents and visitors. Through the involvement of local professional artists and other community members, we seek to enhance the civic environment by including artwork as a complete experience.

Our Structure
The visual and performing arts models were written in 2008, which contain grade level student learning expectations and selected assessment. Strategies used are different for each discipline and age group. Regardless of their origins, when individuals interested in art interact with other people, they generate enough curiosity and uncertainty to spur questioning, creative thinking, problem solving and openness to different avenues of exploration through different art materials and tools. Our programs are also focused on personal and academic enhancement, and we have a system in place that allows effective communication, flexibility, and accountability. We believe that positive attitude transforms people into great achievers.
